Who sends the messages

OSIDE (osideca.com), a local information website for Oceanside, California, operated by Tim Radzikowski. Messages come from (760) 795-9845.

Who receives them, and why

Only owners and staff of local Oceanside businesses that have an OSIDE Card or partner account and opted in. OSIDE does not text consumers or send marketing messages.

Businesses text OSIDE short updates about what they have available right now. OSIDE's messages are replies and account notices about those updates:

• Confirmation that an update was posted and when it expires
• Confirmation when an update is taken down (reply CLEAR)
• Account notices, e.g. when the plan's monthly posting allowance is used
• Answers to HELP

How businesses opt in

1. Website form. When creating an OSIDE Card at osideca.com/business/start (or applying at osideca.com/business) and choosing to post updates “By text”, the owner enters their mobile number and must check a separate consent checkbox. The box is unchecked by default, and consent is not a condition of purchase. Choosing “By email” instead requires no phone number.

Checkbox text: “Text me about my OSIDE live updates. By checking this box, you agree to receive text messages from OSIDE at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Terms and Privacy Policy.”

2. Business texts OSIDE first. A business contact may text (760) 795-9845 first. OSIDE's reply identifies the program and includes “Reply STOP to opt out.”

Frequency, cost and opting out

• Message frequency varies with how often the business posts updates: a reply per update, a short results message after an update ends, and one weekly summary.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to opt out at any time. You'll get one confirmation and no further messages. Reply START to opt back in.
• Reply HELP for help, or email hello@osideca.com.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

• “Live on OSIDE until 6:00 PM: Eight patio tables open now. Text CLEAR to take it down early.”
• “Done. Harbor Tacos has nothing live on OSIDE now.”
• “OSIDE results for “Eight patio tables open now”: while it was live, 84 Card views, picked 6 times in Ask OSIDE, 11 taps for directions, calls or Go. Reply STOP to opt out.”
• “OSIDE live updates for Oceanside businesses. Text what's available right now. Text CLEAR to take it down. Msg freq varies. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”
